Youngsters

Written by disco cycling at 18:06 2/1-2016

Today the team said goodbye to our legendary captain Irakly Cherkasov. We really enjoyed having him in our team the last few seasons. With his experience and unique talent he managed to get some amazing results for the team. Yesterday in his last race as captain he managed to get on the podium once again, by ending second in Bruz-Rennes. It's a little sad to let him go but financially we were quite obligated to do this, which Irakly off course understood. Whether he will continue cycling remains unclear, the former vice-world champion hasn't had any bids from another teams. He will soon appear on the riders without contract list.

But we also have great news! Rainer Aberg has recently joined our team. We're expecting much of this danish youngster and he has been sent on training camp already. Joining him, on this training camp, is Tobias Jonker, he might be already 25 yrs old but we're very confident he can become an even better rider. We are very hopeful and hope they will be capable to score for us the coming seasons.

Until these guys are ready and set to compete in the climb races, Perry Dobbelaere and Valter Lallemand are even under more pressure because they are the only ones bringing points now Irakly has left. Lets see what they can do in the "Race to the Wall" next week in Germany.

  Cheers!

Update: Jonker did not gain anymore points. Lets hope Aberg maxes high.

I wanted to do that actually but at a certain point you gotta make a choice. He still got a result today at 35 years old but he won't be able to do that for a lot longer so that's why I bought Rainer. In order to do that I had to release him. Its sad I know :p. And thanks ;) I hope your finger crossing delivers ;)

Why dont you make Irakly your trainer?
A bit low max for Yonker indeed. Fingers crossed for Rainer now. Good luck with him.
